Terra Mortis Exclusive Preview

Terra Mortis, being published by Lion Banner Games, is a new post-apocalyptic RPG set in a desolate cyberpunk world that blurs the lines between the human and inhuman. The survivors of this world, augmented humans, mutants, and other sentient beings, mix with the remaining human populace in an area called the Fringes. Your characters living in the Fringes must battle mutant gangs while staying strong against the landscape of the left-behind world.

Tabletop United has some exclusive art to show off, bringing the world of Terra Mortis to your screens and monitors. Launching on Tuesday via Gamefound on September 9th, 2024, the Lion Banner team will be bringing everything you need to survive to the Fringes to your tabletop. The crowdfunding campaign features the following:

A 270-page hardcover book covering all the content, lore, rules, and illustrations you need to bring your tabletop to life in the Fringes.
40+ digital or physical battlemaps to test your adventurers mettle
Injection molded miniatures for use on the tabletop as well as STL digital terrain files

Using the Year Zero Engine from Free League Publishing, has taken the tested core of YZE and customized it into something new.

Cult Scene Terra Mortis

Like most RPGs, Terra Mortis invites players to not only explore and do battle against ne’er-do-wells and other forces but also explores universal themes and conflicts as their player-characters grow.

Humanity: The transformation of humans via mutation and augmentations has brought about questions and doubts when they cease to become human and instead are more attuned to robots or mutants. The clash between views of those who believe this new future cannot be without this new type of humanity will be at odds with those who seek a return to the pure flesh of the past. To renege on technology is to seek redemption in what makes us human. The player must fi nd their place in this world and decide who they are and what they wish for their future as they fi nd themselves in these moral dilemmas.
Survival: The Fringes presents a brutal landscape where the players must survive as they attempt to scavenge what pieces and tools they can to create and maintain vehicles, weapons, and other tools. Sometimes for one to satiate their hunger, another person must not eat. The world is a zero sum game.
Exploration: The landscape hosts a wide variety of dangers, including corrupt weather systems, chemical and radiation zones, and modifi cations in the landscape. The players will have to face these dangers and adapt as the shifting threats can lead to a swift death.
Violence: A mere tool for some to further their goals, while others who seek bloodlust use it as part of their pleasure. The impact murder and crime have on people and communities leaves an everlasting trauma. It is a cycle that never ends, with vendettas and hate simmering in the hearts of those who seek violence and attempt to repel it.

The core rulebook includes rules and information from the Year Zero Engine but has several additional features, including:
